Social Skills Mastery

There are several reasons why introverted and socially reserved professionals prefer to avoid working in teams.

Introverts often appreciate having control over their work environment and process. They may prefer making decisions independently and working at their own pace. In a team, decision-making is typically a collaborative process, requiring compromise and consensus. Introverts may feel more empowered and productive when they can work autonomously and follow their own internal processes.

Socially reserved professionals may experience social anxiety or discomfort in group settings. They may prefer to avoid situations that require constant interaction, such as team meetings or brainstorming sessions, where they feel pressure to contribute and engage with others. Working alone can alleviate the stress and anxiety associated with social interactions, allowing them to focus on their work without the added pressure of constant socialization.

Creating and sharing a personal journal can help team members better understand the personalities they’re working with.
